The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University at Benguerir (Morocco) is home to an International Chess Game Festival from October 30 to November 3, 2019, with several activities related to chess such as an International tournament that will involve the participation of circa 100 players, including several high-level players from Morocco and abroad, blitz games, an artisanal chess-making workshop, stamps, chess boards, books and paintings exhibitions, a “literary café”, a film screening, children’s workshops, simultaneous games and an original poetical, musical and dance concert based on the same theme.
The planned tournament is organized by “Fondation des Cultures du Monde”, a Moroccan NGO, in collaboration with AIDEF (International Association of Francophone Chess) and will take place according to the Swiss system in 11 rounds of 30 minutes + 30 seconds rapid pace with mandatory scoring (tie for title : result; otherwise game of 4/5 minutes).

The first 20 best ELO ranking players from outside Morocco will be hosted freely in Marrakech in 4/5 stars hotel from 30, october to 3, November, 2019. A limited number of other players can also be hosted freely in good conditions in the same city. The last time to register on line is October 20, 2019 at midnight.
