We are back.
Can you believe this is already our 15th edition of the Gibraltar festival?
Chess is well and truly back at the Caleta Hotel which is ready for this year’s challenge. The participation numbers in tournaments – the Open, the Amateurs and the Challengers are greater than ever – with over 50 countries being represented.
The Grand Masters, the technical team, and everyone involved is beginning to arrive this weekend ready for the Gibraltar Open on Tuesday and the 10 days of competition.
The Tradewise organisers, tournament director Stuart Conquest and his team, and of course Franco Ostuni, Hotel General Manager and his staff, are welcoming everyone and getting everyone settled in at the home of chess on the Rock – the Caleta Hotel.
At the Press Office we are back in action and the office will be fully manned as from Tuesday 24 January from early morning ahead of the first move of the Gibraltar Masters at 3pm, Gibraltar time, that afternoon for the whole tournament.
Just to remind you that we are at your disposal should you need any information, photographs, interviews etc. If you would like specific information on any of the chess players and require photographs etc. these will be available on our main website or by getting in touch with us.
