The Gibraltar Junior International Chess Festival takes place in August each year, this year between 21th and 25th of August 2014. The venue is the Caleta Hotel and follows the successful pattern of the Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival, offering competitive chess-playing opportunities with an equally strong social, fun and educational programme.

What we are doing with the Junior Chess Tournament, in partnership with the Government of Gibraltar, is seeking to extend that success to involve and engage with younger chess players from across the world, and in the time that we have been involved we have witnessed a revived interest in the playing of chess in Gibraltar amongst our young people. »
